The addition of Mini Service 2 years ago has proven to be a big success and our reputation for
top-notch service is spreading quickly.

The success of our business, over the last 5 decades, could not have been possible without a staff of loyal employees dedicated to customer satisfaction. 5 of our 10 employees have been with the company 20-25 years.

1961
Leased a run-down Phillips 66 station, off the main road, with 14 competitors within 2 miles.

1962
While working on any car that came in, began to specialize in VW Beetles.

1965
Business had grown from 1 employee to 4 in a very crowded shop.

1966
Was offered a choice of 2 modern gas stations within short distance and moved to present location and brought all of old customers with. Discontinued all import work.

1968
Installed one of first “Roll-Over” car washes in country over objections of landlord oil company.
Gas volume skyrocketed along with congestion. Car repair work exceeded capacity to produce.

1969-1973
Observed proliferation of imports and chose to specialize in Volvos instead of taking on all brands. Well built cars, designed to be repaired.

1974
Began to phase out of various brands of domestic cars as Volvo business grew at a fast pace.
Landlord agreed to add fifth service bay for a rent increase. Now had 15 employees.

1978
Discontinued car wash to expand service area. Continued to eliminate domestics in favor of Volvos only.

1979-1983
Gas sales were interfering with ever expanding Volvo business. Oil Company agreed to sell the property and would finance as long as we continued to sell their gas and other products.

1984
Secured bank financing, then built an addition, nearly doubling size of shop. Added body shop services and removed gas pumps.

1995
Closed the body shop to accommodate growing Volvo mechanical service. Customer base had expanded regionally with customers coming from as far as Rockford.

1996-2006
Steadily refined business to increase production and efficiency. Computerized service information and recordkeeping. Joined several groups to share technology and management information.

2008

Recognized as one of the top 10 shops in the country by Motor Age magazine.

2009-2011
Added Mini Cooper service in 2009. A good decision as growth has been amazing.
Celebrated 50 years in business in March of 2011.
